Creator Brief Checker guide

A practical process for turning campaign information into a brief a creator can understand, price and execute.

Prepare the brief

Start with the version you intend to send, not scattered notes. Remove comments that are only for your internal team and confirm that every instruction reflects the current campaign decision.

  • State the campaign objective and the action you want the audience to take.
  • List every deliverable with platform, format, quantity, length and due date.
  • Include access, approval, publishing and reporting dates with a time zone.
  • Separate mandatory requirements from optional creative guidance.

Run the check

Paste the text or upload a DOCX, PDF or TXT file. The checker looks for missing details, vague wording, conflicting instructions and terms that commonly slow down creator work. Review findings in context rather than treating the result as a simple score.

Resolve each finding deliberately

Accept wording only when it is accurate. Edit it when the recommendation needs campaign facts, and dismiss it when the original brief is already intentional. Replace every bracketed placeholder with confirmed information before the brief is ready to send.

Check the areas that carry commercial risk

  • Usage rights: channels, territory, duration, paid media and editing rights.
  • Exclusivity: named competitors or category, territory and start and end dates.
  • Compensation: fee, currency, payment timing, expenses and performance incentives.
  • Disclosure and approvals: required labels, review rounds and response deadlines.
  • Confidentiality: what is confidential, who may access it and when restrictions end.

Re-run before sending

Run the revised brief through the checker again after resolving the first pass. This can identify gaps introduced by edits and confirms whether placeholders or conflicting instructions remain. Automated suggestions support review; they do not replace commercial, legal or regulatory review where it is needed.
